Sapphire DEVNET: `/rss/*` returns 503 on all nodes since 2026-10-22

Since about 2026-10-22 23:00 UTC, every web sign-in on our staging app fails (verifier cipherbox-identity, @web3auth/mpc-core-kit 3.5.0, @tkey/tss 15.1.0).

  • https://node-{1..5}.dev-node.web3auth.io/rss/rss_round_1 returns 503 No server is available to handle this request for both OPTIONS and POST, from any origin. The 503 has no CORS headers, so browsers report a CORS error and the SDK throws Failed to fetch. _UNSAFE_exportTssKey fails because it calls addFactorPub and deleteFactorPub, and both use RSS.
  • /sss/jrpc, /tss/health and /metadata/health on the same nodes return 200.
  • Since 2026-10-24, some sign-ins fail before RSS with Error occurred while getting current epoch.
  • Still the same at 2026-10-25 12:09 UTC.

Is the RSS service on Sapphire DEVNET down, and is there an ETA?

Hi Shana, yes I am still getting the 503 response from the devnet RSS endpoints.

I tested locally, Sapphire Devnet is working correctly. Just note that Devnet is only meant for local testing and you need to be on mainnet to do testing on any hosted domain.

Can you check if you are facing the same issue in localhost as well?

Our team has identified the issue particularly in US/EU regions. We will update once it gets resolved.
